Situated along the shores of Lake Athens, Dragonfly was envisioned as a multigenerational family retreat where the property’s remarkable natural beauty would remain the centerpiece. Working alongside TEN55 Design, Landvisions provided landscape construction, grading, drainage, irrigation, native restoration, and long-term landscape management across more than 25 acres. Every decision was made to preserve the site’s mature woodlands and one of East Texas’ most significant native dogwood stands.

Built in Thoughtful Phases

Completed over multiple phases across three years, Dragonfly required careful coordination as the property continued to evolve. Each phase needed to integrate seamlessly with previous work while protecting the site’s existing topography, mature trees, and natural character. At the same time, every outdoor space had to feel connected, creating a cohesive experience from the arrival drive to the lakefront.

Connected from Drive to Dock

Landvisions served as the landscape construction and long-term site development partner throughout the project. Our team coordinated grading, drainage infrastructure, irrigation, native restoration, planting, and circulation systems that connect the residence, guest house, barn, and boathouse into one unified landscape. By working with the land instead of reshaping it, each phase strengthened the property’s character while preserving its natural beauty.

Dragonfly was built through close collaboration between the owners, the design team, and Landvisions. Beyond construction, we continued providing guidance on landscape detailing, material coordination, grading, drainage, and planting to ensure every phase remained true to the original vision. Today, our team continues to manage and steward the property as the landscape matures.

Today, Dragonfly reflects a thoughtful balance between architecture and the East Texas landscape. Native woodlands, connected outdoor spaces, and carefully preserved natural features create a timeless lakefront retreat that feels as though it has always belonged.
