Bear Creek

Sunset with Friends and Family

Friday evening sunsets often turn a calm Lake Athens into a fiery red canvas – best enjoyed with cocktails and friends gathered around the fire pit. Built 25 years ago, the home and original landscape have been loved by the same family ever since. Now, with grown kids and a new generation of grandkids visiting the lake, the outdoor spaces were ready for a reimagined layout that supports both relaxation and active family time. This front-to-back renovation transformed the property into an all-ages playground: pool with spa, fire pit, artificial turf game lawn, grass play lawn, and pickleball court – strategically arranged for easy access and clear sightlines, while complementing the home’s architecture and the character of the surrounding community.

Respite from the Sun

Designed as a comfortable retreat from the Texas summer sun, the poolside shade structure extends usable outdoor living space without interrupting views or circulation. Drawing from the home’s existing materials and color palette, it blends seamlessly with the covered patio through oversized rough-hewn cedar timbers and exposed steel plate connections—equal parts architectural and durable.
