Perched along the banks of the Red River in Shreveport, Louisiana, this modern estate was designed to celebrate its natural surroundings while providing exceptional privacy and outdoor living. Landvisions partnered with the homeowner, Wernerfield Architects, Hand Construction, and the consultant team through an extensive design-build process to deliver a cohesive landscape featuring custom pool construction, custom water features, native restoration, outdoor lighting design, drainage, and landscape construction that complements the home’s contemporary architecture.
Our Approach
Our team organized the property into distinct landscape zones that transitioned from restored native shoreline to refined outdoor living spaces surrounding the home. Engineered pool construction, custom steel water features, native grasses, drainage systems, berms, fencing, and carefully selected plantings created a landscape that is both resilient and visually connected to the architecture.
The Challenge
Designing along the Red River presented unique environmental and engineering challenges. The property required solutions for seasonal flooding, stormwater management, erosion control, and poor soils, while preserving the native shoreline ecosystem. At the same time, the homeowners wanted a strong sense of privacy despite neighboring community amenities, without sacrificing expansive river views.

Corten steel retaining walls, locally sourced stone veneer, custom steel water features, infinity-edge pool, honeylocust trees, sculptural fountain, engineered soil blends, HDPE pool structure, low-voltage LED lighting, native riverbank grasses, and ornamental perennials.
Client Collaboration
This project was built over nearly four years and relied on close collaboration between the owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and our team. Weekly coordination meetings and consistent communication kept every phase moving smoothly while allowing the design to evolve alongside construction and remain aligned with the client’s priorities and budget.

A dramatic arrival sequence, custom reflection fountain, negative-edge pool, restored native shoreline, and thoughtfully integrated outdoor spaces create a private retreat that feels both refined and connected to its environment.
