Community Park Re-imagined
Broach Park serves as a hub for recreation in Pittsburg, Texas, providing the community with a variety of outdoor activities. A generous group of donors hired Landvisions to create a Master Plan that identified near term and future improvement opportunities within the 68-acre recreational complex. Activating uses adjacent to the fishing pond and playground improvements were prioritized early in the planning process. The Nature Play components, connections, and materials were chosen for celebrating a harmonious extension of the natural setting while encouraging creative play and use for multiple age groups.

Natural Play
Old growth Douglas Fir timbers were harvested from a local contractors’ property in Colorado, picked and prepared specifically for three designed elements. The “fort” concept allows for climbing and crawling with a tree house style platform. The “frogger” and “pole swing” provide for additional active play and continue the vertical timber theme throughout the playground area.
